Why choose Smart Training?
- We will do the heavy lifting:
We believe the apprenticeship process should not be overcomplicated for employers. In fact, we think simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. We won’t weigh you down with unnecessary paperwork, red tape or financial hoops or hurdles. We understand you have a business to run, so we take care of complicated stuff and work to lighten the load.
- Dedicated Account Manager:
Our Account Managers come from all walks of life and have tons of experience across a variety of sectors. They will be your one point of contact from start to finish and are available directly their mobile. We also work hard to matching the right member of our team with the right business. Like a dating agency, but without the heartache.
- We will show you the Money:
Budgets are tight. You’re being asked to do more with less. Sound familiar? It is a situation we help employer’s deal with on a daily basis. In short, we understand you have a bottom line, not a bottomless pit of available cash. That is why we work with you to realise the funding potential when adopting apprenticeships. Helping you to upskill the workforce, without breaking the bank.
- Bye-bye bureaucracy:
No one enjoys filling in forms, especially when it is a duplicate of a duplicate that was filled in three days earlier. That is why we have streamlined the apprenticeship process for employers and so you can spend more time with your staff working on their apprenticeship and less time administering the process. Less forms, less hassle.
- Flexibility, we will bend over backwards:
Employers’ needs no longer fit into a tried and tested box, that is why we had to start thinking outside of it. We have launched flexible training programmes which will not impact your working day. Downtime is minimised by fitting assessment sessions around shift pattern and you can talk to us about any issues you are facing.
Wide range of courses
We have a comprehensive range of childcare, business and management training courses at different levels to suit all your training needs. Whatever your employee’s education level, including degrees, there is an apprenticeship on offer relevant to their role. Click on the childcare and management training sections to find out more.
We pride ourselves on our high-quality service. Our 30-strong team of tutors have extensive industry knowledge and experience, plus a commitment to bringing out the best out in each learner– and your staff will get the support of a dedicated Progress Manager to help keep them on track with their studies and to provide information, advice and guidance where required.
We are funded by the Government which means we may be able to offer you and your staff subsidised Apprenticeship training depending on their current qualifications and eligibility. Apprenticeship training is funded by the Government for those who are employed for more than 16 hours a week and have lived or worked in the UK or European Union for the last three years.
Non-levy paying employers are now required to contribute 10% of the costs of training and learners are not legally allowed to pay this fee. Large employers can fund the entire cost through the Apprenticeship levy.
An Apprentice needs to be in training for at least a year and 8 days, which equates to 1,590 hours – or 30 hours a week – of employment. It is expected that 20% of these hours are spent completing off the job training. For more information on employing an Apprentice, then please click here
Off the Job Training on your terms
20% of your employee’s week will need to include off the job training. But that does not mean they have to be off site – it just means time out from their day-to-day duties. Our aim is to develop and not disrupt your business, so we work with you to tailor the off-the job time to your needs. It could include work shadowing in other departments, working on projects related to the qualification or attending a related conference.
We have the flexibility to fit in with your own requirements too – with training offered in a wide range of locations and starting at any time throughout the year. Our courses typically involve attendance at study days one day per month and in between these days, learners complete assignments and carry out practical tasks in the workplace. They are supported with our flexible Online resources which enable learners to develop their skills when and how they want .
If you have six or more staff members wanting a qualification you can take advantage of the bespoke training we offer which can be arranged at your own workplace, and at a time that is convenient to you. For more information call us on 02037004294

Small employers – those who have employed an average of 49 or fewer employees in the past year – can take advantage of Government incentives if they are looking to take on an Apprentice. The Government will waiver the 10% contribution small employers are normally required to pay if the apprentice is aged 16-18 years old at the start of their apprenticeship or make a £1,000 payment so training is fully funded. The incentives also apply to apprentices aged 19-24 who have an education, health and care plan provided by their local authority or who have been in the care of a local authority. Payment is also offered if, before enrolling on an apprenticeship framework, the apprentice has a postcode listed within the 27% most deprived areas of the country.
The recruitment of one or more apprentices must not take the average number of employees above 50.

I found the management courses very interesting. They equipped me with the skills to progress into things like risk assessments and budgeting. I wouldn't be in the role I am today without them!
