*Smart Training offers free or subsidised training courses for eligible learners who are employed for more than 30 hours a week, have lived in the UK or European Union for the last three years and don't hold a UK-recognised degree. Training is free for 16-18 year olds but, due to decreasing Government budgets, the Skills Funding Agency asks employers to pay half the cost of training for older learners .Smart Training can help
towards these costs so the Employers' Contribution for those aged 19-24 is just £250 plus VAT and £500 plus VAT for over 25s.
Smart Training Apprenticeships training works alongside your own in-house training to ensure learners are supported and trained to the highest level. Training is delivered at a centre local to you on either one Saturday per month, one day per week** or online via our own Online Training Academy.
As well as being responsible for paying their wages, you will also need to give your Apprentice a contract of employment and provide an induction into their role, a work-based mentor and on-the-job training.
Once learners have signed on a training course, employers receive the support of one of our team of Training Managers who will be on hand to offer advice where needed and encourage and support your Apprentice. They will work with you to:
