An ideal course for anyone working as a teaching assistant, special needs assistant, learning support assistant or in another support role within a primary, secondary or special school with a wide range of duties.
Smart Training currently only offers this part-time course to groups of 10 or more based at the same school. We provide you with your own tutor and tutorials are held at a time to suit you either after school, in the evenings or on a Saturday. Following tutorials, learners plan a programme of development and assessment with their Smart Training assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role. Learners must already either be employed or in a practical placement for the whole period of the qualification.

Also included for those with Apprenticeship funding are the Employment Responsibilities & Rights Workbook and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills together with Level 2 in the three functional skills of maths, English and ICT. These provide you with the skills and abilities needed to be able to work confidently, effectively and independently.
It takes between 15-18 months to complete this course.
