Ideal for those who are working as teaching assistants and who may be new to the occupation or whose levels of decision-making and work are defined by the classroom teacher. It is suitable for those working with pupils of any age in primary, secondary or special schools.
Smart Training currently only offers this part-time course to groups of 10 or more based at the same school. We provide you with your own tutor and tutorials are held at a time to suit you either after school, in the evenings or on a Saturday. Following tutorials, learners plan a programme of development and assessment with their Smart Training assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
This course comprises seven units:
Learners with Apprenticeship funding will also study for Level 1 Maths and ICT functional skills, Level 2 English plus the Employment Responsibilities & Rights Workbook and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills. The functional skills are practical skills that provide you with the skills and abilities needed to be able to work confidently, effectively and independently.
It will take 12-18 months to complete the course.
