Q. What is an Apprenticeship?
A. Apprenticeships are a programme of on-the-job training leading to a nationally recognised qualification. They are open to everyone over the age of 16, whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career. Q. Why should I do an Apprenticeship?
A. As an Apprentice, you'll get some really relevant training for the career that you want to go into as well as learning skills that employers are looking for. It is an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience.
Q. Will I get paid?
A. Yes, all employed apprentices will get a wage.The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is a minimum of £2.50 per hour. However, as skills develop, many employers tend to increase wages - in fact, research has found that apprentices earn an average of £170 net pay per week. The Apprentice National Minimum Wage applies to all 16 to 18 year olds and to those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. If you reach age 19 and have completed the first year of your Apprenticeship your employer must pay you at least the full National Minimum Wage rate for those aged 18 to 20.
Q. Do I get holidays?
A. Like most other employees, you will be given at least 20 days' paid holiday per year as well as Bank Holidays.

Q. Is training really free of charge?
A. Training is available free of charge to learners aged 24 and under as the Government funds the cost under its Apprenticeship Scheme. There is an Employers Contribution of £500 plus VAT for those over the age of 25. Free training is available to everyone who has lived in the UK or European Union for the last three years and doesn't hold a degree.
Q. What support is available to me during my course?
A. You will be assigned a Training Manager to be your personal contact for help and support during the course. In addition you can contact your Tutor by phone or email in between study days.
Q. How big are class sizes?
A. Class sizes are limited to no more than 18 students
Q. Will I need to buy any materials, equipment or books?
A. No - all course materials are provided on our Online Training Academy.
Q. If I move house during the course can I move to a closer study group?
A. Yes - if we have a group running nearer to your new address then you will be able to move into that one.
