We have the flexibility to fit in with your own requirements too - whether you choose for your staff on childcare apprenticeships to attend traditional monthly study days, complete their qualification online through our Online Training Academy or a combination of both.

Free Training

The best news of all is that childcare apprenticeship training and other Smart Training courses may be available free of charge. Eligible learners need to be employed for more than 30 hours a week, have lived in the UK or European Union for the last three years and don't hold a UK recognised degree. Training is free for 16-18 year olds but, due to decreasing Government budgets, the Skills Funding Agency asks employers to pay half the cost of training for older learners . Smart Training can help towards these costs so the Employers' Contribution for those aged 19-24 is just £250 plus VAT and £500 plus VAT for over 25s.
